Default first oil change since purchase and ticking seems louder??

I had to go with Mobil 0w40.. I know I was supposed to use the Rotella T6.. anyway.. why would an oil change do this?? I was thinking the tapping was the flex plate issue.. does this new symptom help diagnose the underlying tap? PS where is the SAI on this year? its not on the passenger side fire wall?? thanks brothers

The 0W40 choice would be for a very cold area, but the 5W40 T6 or the 15W40 dino cousin work well in many areas. Does noise start at cold start, or get louder as engine warms up? Have you done a mechanical oil pressure gauge test?

Maybe you don't have the SAI system? See attached, the parts are kind of hard to hide, and should be easy to find if it is fitted with one. Of course, if a pre-owned vehicle, parts could have been removed by a POET (previous owner - exceptional turkey)

If you have a tick, heavier oil will just be a bandaide and not fix a thing. Are you mechanical enough to follow directions and find your tick?

Yes less to worry about. But cheaper to fix than some other potentials.
