Default Flickering lights

Noticed my LED flood lights flickering and figured they were just acting up. Noticed the dome light was flickering as well so something electrical is going on. Alternator is new and pushes out 13.8 to 14v per ultragauge.

Ideas where to start finding the problem?

Make absolutely certain all terminals/leads are clean. Also a good idea to check the ones in the fuse block under the hood.

Do you see the flickering in other lit up electrical items like the odometer? Check at night when it's dark to make the flickering a little more apparent. I had the same thing happen to me it was a bad alternator voltage regulator which had just been replaced by the PO, it was the only bright and shiny thing in the engine bay so I was disappointed when I had to replace it so soon. Apparently even new alternators can be a little spotty (mine was rebuilt which is even more prone to problems) At any rate, I swapped it out and all of the flickering went away.

I had a problem where for some reason my Disco only started when I turned the headlights on. After it was running, the interior LEDs flickered. The cause was a frayed positive battery cable.

I'm tempted to replace both battery cables. Are people fabricating their own?

It's not difficult, but you will need a battery cable crimper, which can be expensive if you're only using it once. Or just try doing it with the ignition terminal crimper on a wire stripper, but some of us (*cough*) don't have the greatest hand strength.
