Default FOB battery

The FOB stopped working and I went to replace the battery. A bit of rust and corrosion inside, used electrical cleaner and cleaned it all out. Replaced battery and lights work on FOB but it doesn't work the locks. Any ideas, searched the boards and cant find a reference in the RAVE to reset the keys.

Thanks

Did it ever work with the vehicle?

Read your manual. With my P38 it says you have to get the new batteries in within a minute or it wipes the code. The procedure is unlock the car, insert the key, push the lock button and while holding it down and turn the key to lock. That resets the code in the key fob. I just did this the other day and it worked first shot. D2 may be different. Don't know.

Not the same as a P38, unfortunately for the op.

If the fob worked at one time with the vehicle, there are only 2 possibilities:

1) it's lighting up but not transmitting a signal.

2) the receiver positioned in the front of the rear sunroof has some water intrusion and no longer functions properly.

Good luck.

Try holding the key blade on your chin while you operate the remote. Signal strength will get weak in a badly corroided remote and touching your chin with the blade creates a stronger signal to the LR.

Yes it worked before...

Thanks for the responses, it must be the FOB. I don't have any water issues that I can see. The corrosion must have done it in....
