Default Found this in the oil pan - what is it??

Folks,

I’ve put in new rod bearings, along with a ton of other things, and down to the final step
of reinstalling the sump. I’m cleaning out the pan and this fell out, see the pic.
Any ideas what it is?
It’s about 1 cm in diameter, with one side a beveled edge.
the other side has about 30 deg of beveled edge with the rest sheared off.

thanks in advance!
Ed

It's a spacer used to located the valve cover gasket. Fell down there last time it was changed.

And FWIW, that deformed side probably indicates something smashed it when it was on its way down from the head to the oil pan.
