Hello everyone, I have a 2002 disco 2 and my frame has had some plating done to it. Im not sure if this a common thing to do for off-roading. I was told when I bought the car it came from an old guy who had a bunch of Disco and this one was going to be his bulletproof/ Apocalypse rig. Does anyone know if this is a real thing or just a biff to repair the frame(it doesn't seem to be rotted out anywhere and the parts of the frame that haven't been plated are clean and snow no signs of excessive rust/rot.) Thanks for the help.

 

No its not a common off road thing. Usually frame plating would be over damaged or rusted sections. D2 do have some common rot spots in the rear half of the frame
