Default Frickin' Hub Caps!

Okay, I'm just about ready to pull out my hair over the little 'Silver Sparkle' hubcaps on my 2000 Disco.

Has anyone else had a problem with these thing falling out? I lost one about a year and a half ago. I replaced it (at $18), but now I've lost this replacement AND the one on the other end of the axle. I don't seem to be getting excessive vibration or anything, they just keep falling off.

Is there any way to prevent this?

TIA

Chris

It is not Rovers fault the caps come of, it is your mechanic or your fault for using the wrong size socket when removing your wheels.
Have to use a 1 1/16th. 6 point socket to make sure that doesn't happen.

I'm talking about the little silver logo caps that go over the bearing hub on the alloy wheels (I believe they were also used on the RR). Rovers North made the same mistake when they sent me one of the big black hubcaps the first time I had to replace one.

Sorry I misunder stood which part you were talking about.
If, when you install them, you put a small amount of silicone gle on the iside clip surface they will not pop off.
Good luck,
Mike

I'd thought about that solution, or something like it. Sounds like a plan to me.

Thanks, Mike.

Most of mine have now been on for at least 4 years, trust me it works well.

Transparent paper!!!!! Yes, that is cheaper and probably looks it.

I've also found that Super Glue works fine as well. Shops are also still able to get it off just fine
