Default Front bumper ideas

Hi, I bought a 2000 Disco and needs a front bumper. It runs just fine and I only paid 1K for it , so I am not looking to pay 500 for the bumper. Is there some cheap bumpers I can buy or even make ? Any cheap solutions at all ? I can't really find any used ones either. Thanks

You mean the front bumper plastic cover, right ?
If you have a junk yard around, explore fitting a 1998 Grand Cherokee transplant, and come back with findings. I have not found one yet, but looking.

Can you weld? Weld together Jeep XJ bumpers are super cheap. I've got one I'm modifying for my Tahoe, and the wife's disco might get one as well.

Rip the plastic off, used the support underneath. Add a factory brush guard and it almost looks finished.

Thanks for the ideas guys , thats what I didnt know if some other bumper can be fitted on there , ALSO what would it look like with the brush guard and no bumper cover , do you have a pic? Also the brush guards seem to be just as expensive if not more than the cover .
Thanks

Are you talking about the OEM plastic or metal bumper ?

My front bumper (plastic part) was also pretty beat up when I bought mine. I didn’t want to put a ton of money in to it either, I had my eye out for a year and a half until I found one on a part out truck. Paid $50 for it and it gave me a chance to practice fixing some cracks with fiberglass and bondo. I then sprayed the entire thing with black plasti-dip. I really like the way it turned out and only a super disco nerd would be able to call out that the bumper should be body colored (red) and not black.

At any rate- check Craigslist and Facebook marketplace constantly as well as your local wrecking yard, one will come up eventually without paying an arm and a leg, but be prepared to wait!

I was able to source a 2004 D2 bumper from Will Tillery in very good condition for a very reasonable price. No clue what shipping would run ( Will is in western VA.) I had my son pick it up since he is not too far from Will.
here is his contact info: WILL TILLERY <WILLTILLERY@roverguy.com>
