Is it hard to rebuild a front caliper or should i buy used ones from rover parts, should i do both, I cleaned a lubed the slids on both front beaks and it stll pulls to the right under breaking, the front left caliper had some cracked rubber around the caliper pistons. 1999 D2 116,000 miles

Thank for any input.

I got a rebuilt caliper for my 94 for like $64. At OReileys.. Autozone had them for like $70. It is EXACTLY the same as the calipers that are on it... They are rebuilt.. How much are the ones from Rover Parts??

If the rubber boots are torn, dirt can/will get in around piston and cause corrosion & binding.

If your left boot is torn & piston is binding, truck will pull to the right when braking.

It'll probably take a good mech 1hr to rebuild a caliper. If there's corrosion inside & it can be cleaned add 1/2hr.

Might be less aggravating to install a rebuilt

luck,greg

If you are mechanical, you should be OK. One thing to consider when rebuilding a front caliper, if you don't rebuild both, it may pull the other direction because of high mileage and wear on the other side.
