Default Front Cover- Going in

So, My Dad's car has a leak from the front cover and he wants it fixed.

He just replaced the water pump and the fan clutch.

Just wanted to make sure I am not forgetting anything:

- Water pump gasket
- Front cover gasket
- Timing chain
- Front crank seal
- Oil pump
- Oil filter extension gasket(Not sure of the name)
- Oil pan gasket

Did I miss anything? And no, we don't want to do the bottom end bearings while the oil pan is off.

Thanks.

Don't forget.

oil pickup oring, if your are doing the timing chain (good idea) make sure you also do both timing gears. When you have the front cover off take appart the oil bypass valve and make sure you clean it out but also replace the oring on the end cap.

When you say both timing gears, do you mean replace them? I thought they were re usable?

The timing gears wear in with the chain. Besides they are inexpensive to purchase and you will be removing them anyhow to install the new chain.

Abran, how did you make out with the front cover? I'm likely to be doing mine soon-ish. Any things to know or avoid?
