The seal I used: Crankshaft Seal Corteco 15030309B ERR6490 ($14 incl shipping). Much cheaper than the genuine seal and I have the impression it sits tighter.
I lock the flywheel by removing rubber access plug to flexplate bolts, turn engine until a round flexplate opening appears through hole and install a 20mm deepwell socket on an extension. This way, it can be done solo and from the front of vehicle.
Thanks for the tip. I will try that next time, hopefully not anytime soon . The crowbar method works solo too, I just jam it somehow in by resting the other end of the crowbar onto the crossmember.
Here is how I pushed the seal in instead of using a socket. I got an end plug for 2" PVC pipes ($2.55 hardware store).
