I did the search but could not find what I was looking for. I am getting my Tom Woods front shaft this week and want to install new bolts along with it. I need to drive the truck and do not want to remove one to check the size. Anyone know what size they are and are all 8 the same?

Just go pull one bolt and see, you'll have an answer quicker then waiting from some of us to guess.
By the way, I have had my drive shaft off 3 times and never replaced the bolts.

 

Thanks, I was hoping someone had to replace them one time or another. I'll just wait to see if any need replacong once I pull the shaft out.

 

Make sure to grease all the fittings on both your new shaft and the rear, including the slip shafts.

 

Here is what you need:

Grade 8 bolts: 3/8-24x 1 1/2 with Ny Loc nuts

My local hardware store carried them for 69 cents each.

Really, you'll have no problems reusing the original ones but make sure not to round off the heads.
