Default Front Driveshaft Rebuild and anybody ever buy from 4x4 Online out of England

I just got my driveshaft rebuilt as a preventative measure on my DII. The shop, Driveline in San Diego (no affiliation) did the work. They told me that the u-joints looked great, they replaced them anyway, charged only $220, including the removal and replacement. Eventhough it didn't need to be done, it sure has given me some piece of mind.

Has anyone used 4x4 Online out of England? I noticed that they had a set of tie-rod ends for 30 pounds, about $45 plus shipping, 3 rights and 1 left. Is something wrong, that seems to be about $100 less than US based shops are charging. The were they kind with the greaseable zerk fitting. Thanks Phil

thanks for the heads up. Do you have a recommendation on the servicable vs. the non-servicable tie rod ends. The ones with the zerk fittings seem very susceptible to off-road damage. Phil

Just to set you straight, any D2 needs to have the front drive shaft rebuilt, doesn't matter what it looks like or it will fail.
Pay $200 plus to have it rebuilt or $3000 to $4000 to replace the tranny.

Fully understood Mike, I was just pleased to know that failure was not imminent. Any recommendations on the style of tie-rod ends, zerk vs. no zerk. thanks for all that you do. phil

I've been using the type with zerks since I bought my first Land Rover. They have always lasted way longer than the sealed ones. Except for one that failed after a year or two.
