Default Front hub

Just wanted to throw this out there...I have a three amigos problem, had the abs codes read, it returned a code for the front right abs sensor and a code for SVS failure. The shop that read the codes (a reputable indy Rover shop) told me the front right hub also had some play, and I would be better off replacing the whole unit rather than just the sensor (which they also told me was an option), along with rebuilding the SVS (per the instructions on this site). I found the hub on ebay for anyone else looking to replace theirs- its $40 less than any other website, and per an email exchange I had with the seller, its a factory genuine Land Rover part.

Eaglerover - how many miles on your Disco? Oh, I see from your signature < 90,000 miles.

I can't offer advice on the code or legitimacy of the claim for replacement. However I can share that I replaced a left front hub on one of my Discos (2000 MY) at about 130,000 miles and it was not very hard in my estimation. I acquired an OEM part from a local dealer ($576) and did the job myself in about 5 hours in my garage without any specialized tools.

Yeah, I've been told its a pretty easy job. Do you remember what size socket you used to get it off? I looked at it, and the center bolt looks to be 1 1/2 standard, maybe bigger, and thats the largest socket I have, so if its bigger than that, I'll have to pick one up before I start to remove it.

Unfortunately I don't clearly remember. It was not a bump in my process as my tools run up to 46mm so I just grabbed one that fit :-)

Dont know if its an oem, and shipping would put it closer to the ebay price. I am gearing up to do one soon too. As soon as rovafarm reopens.

If you need a good guaranteed used hub, call Paul Grant, his number is in my signature section.
