Default Which Front Hubs to buy

I plan on replacing my front hubs soon, but I'm bewildered by the number of brands. Besides the LR brand ($$$), does anyone have any experience with any of the following brands?

Allmakes, Britpart, Bearmach, EAC, QX Components, etc.

Thanks.

I've always used the absolute cheapest ones I could find on ebay and I've had good luck out of them. I've used quite a few of them.

Used two of the eBay cheapies on two different trucks, with no trouble at all.

If you off road or run larger tires, buy the best you can find. Put cheap (180.00 for pair) priced hubs on my 01 (265/85), which went off road often, and they lasted a year. Put the same on my wife's 03, regular tires/no off road, been a year and they are fine. Me, l'd pay more for a better hub, name brand ($250/$300 a piece) no problem for off road worthy vehicle.

I'm also going to be replacing the ball joints, so since I'm going to everything apart, do you guys think its worth replacing the CV Joints "while I'm in there"? My truck has 150K on it.

Don't buy cheap hubs, unless the D2 is different to the D3 or D4. Timken is OEM for the 3s and 4s and there's a country mile of difference between OEM quality and cheaper ones, which are a false economy in my view. That said, I appreciate that the 3 and 4 weighs a lot more than the earlier versions.

FWIW, I had a huge saga this summer related to the three amigos that turned out to be a bad hub that was NEW from Lucky8. 500 miles later, and the other side is bad too. Should've just spent the money on the nicer brands to begin with. The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten :/

How are you guys avoiding re-boxing? I had it happen on my cooling parts from RockAuto. In many aftermarket cases the parts are from the same manufacturing source, the only difference between the brands is the box label, warranty & price.

What symptoms and diagnosis lead you to determine that the hubs on your truck need to be replaced?

Make sure to purchase a new nut and properly torque to the correct ft lbs.
