front prop shaft or tranny
My front end shudders at medium speeds. It could be tranny shudder or front prop shaft. If front prop shaft, what brand and how easy to replace? I'm scheduled to have tranny fluid and filter replaced. Also slight chirping coming from somewhere. CV joint??
Not hard to replace the front prop shaft at all. Try L8, hell of a price and fully greasable > > https://www.lucky8llc.com/collection...t-driveshaft-6

You can check out the parts and labor cost to have an idea. The factory original does not come with greasable nipple on the shaft unlike those mentioned by over rover so maintenance is easier. Might save money in the long haul.
IMO unless you have the correct tools and time, about one day, it's cheaper to buy the shaft complete rather than a rebuild as the Cardan centre bearing can be a real PITA to install.
In Portland Oregon, we have a company called "Drive line services of Portland". They only do drive lines whether stock or custom. And they also balance the shaft. I will call them on Monday, as they are not open on the weekend. Then I will price them out. My labor is free, so that should help a little when I hand them the shaft only. On a side note, we also have electrical service that can rebuild alternators.
