Front PropShaft Clunking

Front PropShaft Clunking
Help me determine the cause of my front propshaft clunking syndrome. I do not have a new or rebuilt propshaft w/ greasable joints. I know...replace it w/ serviceable grease fittings. My U-joints look and feel solid (no visual sign of wear). I pumped grease into my front and only U-joint grease fitting, still no cure. I am ruling it out, please move on.
I had the trans in neutral, wheels chocked, and am able to turn the shaft (between the transfer case and front diff) 5 degrees or so in either direction. So, to me it seems there is wear in both the transfer case and front diff?? If this is true, HOW? The truck has not been a victim of abuse (i.e. rocking the truck back and forth...shifting from drive to reverse, and I haven't towed anything). This is a new event.
I can recreate the clunking when lifting off the accelerator and again when depressing the accelerator. What gives?
Or maybe, it is my U-Joints?
