Front radius arm replacement cheat sheet
I haven ordered a set of front caster corrected radius arms front RTE fab that should be here in a couple of weeks. Anyone here have any pointers on the best way to swap the arms out? I have also ordered new OEM rubber bushes as well as hardware just in case any of the bolts are frozen in place. I have read that installing the two bolts in the axle side first then last the chassis mount should be the easiest way to swap. Can I leave the tires on? Best to remove both front tires and jack stands on the frame?
Do both sides at once, that way you can maneuver/manipulate the axle into position easily and start bolts without much force (especially front bolts). You partially start the rear of the radius arms through the mounting bracket, and install rubber bushings/washer/nut, but do not tighten nut. Leave everything loose until you have all bolts started up front on axle housing brackets.
Thanks for all the pointers. I found this thread via Google. Not show how I missed this before.
