Default Front and rear wiper problems

I am having two problems with my windshield wipers:
1) Only one of my front wipers is working (Passenger side). I tried to manually move the broken wiper, and it moved freely (felt like it was not connected to anything). Is there a linkage that connects these wipers that could have broken. If so, is this something I can do at home (I am handy, but haven't done much work on vehicles)
2) My rear wiper comes on when I am in reverse. However, it doesnt really move. It looks like it is trying to move but just struggles to move maybe an inch or two . It sound like the motor is still trying. Could this be a linkage issue or are we look at a motor issue?

On the front wipers, remove the cap on the pivot point and tighten the nut, probably the same issue on the rear, loose nut.

Thanks Mike. I tightened the front wipers (both), and they seem to be working just fine. However, it didn't work on the back (the nut wasn't loose). Any other suggestions?

Thanks!
