Default Front Spring Install Question

Hi guys. Getting ready to install some OME 751's in the front and have a quick question. How high does the truck need to be to get the clearance to remove the old and install the new spring? Can I use the bottle jack and then put it on stands? I have a hi-lift, but there is no place on the front of the truck for it. I was looking at floor jacks, but the biggest one only went 20" high.

Also, both the new springs are OME 751's, but one is 3/8" longer than the other. Will this matter after they are installed and under pressure?

Thanks!

I don't know exactly how high, but you'll want a floor jack anyway to put under the axle to lower/raise it when installing the spring. You can do it with a bottle jack, but I don't consider them safe for such a job and personally wouldn't use one if I had a choice.
Get some good jack stands that reach at least 20" (place them under the frame near where the radius arm attaches) and your floor jack under the axle. That should get you there. Some 4x6 blocks of wood come in handy as well. I keep a good supply of wood in my garage for cribbing.

One of the 751's should have a tag stating drivers side, or if it is an older one, it will have an "A or B", A being for the drivers side.
What are you putting in the rear?
You might want to go rent a coil compressor from your local auto parts store, it will make the job much easier.
