Cool front wiper came lose

I'm a little grieved at the moment. Spent a fair amount of money on replacing all my wiper blades, arms and rear motor and now right after installing the Atlantic British winter wiper blades the front passenger wiper arm came lose while driving down the highway. Looking at the Rave it looks like its going to be a pain in the *** cause you have to remove the windishield pillars and the plastic air thing.... is there an easier way to refit the wiper arm to the mechanical device? The entire arm just flops around. Its still attached but you can easily move it all over without any resistance so Im thinking it just came off the track or whatever. Any other tips or things I should be aware of when taking **** apart?

what....... don't take anything apart!

like drow said, it's likely the nut that keeps the arm on, needs to be tightened down.

make sure the little grooves are completely seated on the little splines under the nut at the articulating elbow then tighten nut.

have the day off tomorrow so I will check it out but Im pretty sure the nut is firmly on cause I recently replaced that very wiper arm. Im thinking that I may have caused this problem the other day. Was trying to fit the new winter wiper blades and the passenger side wiper was being a pain in the *** so I pulled on the arm/wiper to slid it into position..... worked fine at first. 15 minutes later I noticed my passenger wiper arm is not operating at all, and in fact it looked like it was GONE! Only when I parked I realized it was still attached, hiding under the creveus of the hood. .....

Definitely a loose nut, did you use loctite or any thread locker? Constant lateral movement can work the nut loose.

Nope I did not use any loctite. Just tightened up. Did not think they would easily come loose on their own but I hope that is the only problem. Id hate to have to pull the piller and cowls off just to fix a wiper!

I only know it's a loose nut for sure because I just did this recently

leave it up to guys.... we can build a bumper, knock out a head gasket job in a weekend, high mileage maintenance in a morning.............but you put a pair of nuts in our face and we forget what to do.
