RE: steering lose?
How about tire wear, what do they look like? What sort of air pressure are you running?
Are yor shock and sprongs originial? If so, they are shot and may be a small part of your problem.
Most likely your steering stablizer died long ago, and it could be a big part of the problem along with may be a bad tie rod end.
So my suggestion would be to rotate your tires if the rears look to have better wear, replace the old steering stabilizer with a new OME stabilizer and head to a good alignment shop, that is familiar with 4 wheelers, and have him check all the steering componets and toe setting.

Get the pitman arm (the arm from the power steering box)
to the other linkage checked.
I took mine in for a alignment and the dealer found it.
Mine had felt a little lose also.
Cost me $ 155 with the alignment.

Still feel the best thing to do is get it on an alignment rack and start checking, item by item, it will show up.
