Default fuel filler neck on an 04 replacement advice

I recently had a fuel filler neck problem where I would put in about .5 gallons of gas and the fuel pump would shut off until i pulled it out let the neck vent and then fill it up again. I took it in and of course Im out of warrenty and I didnt want to put a whole new neck assembly which would put me out of 900$ so I had them jerry rig a solution for less. But of course that failed a week later. They are now replacing the neck but they also suggest that I get a new fuel level sensor. I personally dont think i need it now because of the cost but does anyone think that I really should do it?

Question: how do you think anyone on this forum can make that decision for you without any information about the fuel level sensor?
Dump a can of Techron in your tank and see if the sensor comes right - assuming that it is stuck.

They are probably saying that to save you money later. I assume that they have to remove the tank to replace the filler neck, so it would be real easy to change out the fuel level sensor now. If your sensor goes bad later you have to pay for the same labor twice instead of once. Personally I would do it, but thats me. It's expensive to be cheap.

The fuel level sensor is on the fuel pump.
The fuel pump is a easy DIY job, it takes a hour in your driveway.
Just do the filler neck and when the fuel pump goes bad replace it then.

I agree with spike and there is no reason to replace the fuel sender unless ur having a problem with it.that part has nothing to do with the filler neck also i would check the return hose on the filler neck it is the smaller hose coming out of it somtimes they get clogged with junk and that creates the exact problem ur having
