The sedimeter is only on a diesel, it collects water and larger particles before the fuel goes to the fuel filter.
On cars before the 1940's they had a sediment bowl, a little glass bowl in the fuel line right before the carburator to collect water and dirt, it was glass so that you could see if it was full of water or dirt, close the fuel shut off valve, remove the bowl, empty and clean and then re-install.
Fuel filters take the place of the sediment bowl.
So do not add this to your list of to do's.

With the sedimenter present in Diesel Discos I guess I can change the fuel filter for longer intervals.
