Default Fuel injector clean results

Hey guys,

I purchased an OTC fuel injector cleaner off amazon and used it to run 50/50 seafoam/fuel directly through the fuel rail via the hose on top of the fuel pump in the cargo area. I bumped the OTC up to 30 psi and cranked the engine. After running for just 10-15 minutes, WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The truck doesn't labor up inclines, idles like new, and the shudder when I start the truck is gone. I have run seafoam through the tank every oil change, but there is no comparison after running it through the fuel rail. Just wanted to report, it went well. Have a good day.

I'll get that together. I'm about to do it to the LR3 so I will come up with something.

Years ago I worked in an import garage and we had a similar system from BG and eventually a much fancier version from snap-on. We used it for every major service. Or sometimes as an up-sell with throttle body cleaning for cars we thought could use it.

I had a FZJ80 land cruiser come in once with a dead miss on one cylinder. We hooked up and ran a can of cleaner through it in about 30 seconds. I though I must have forgotten to block off the return like. But it hadn't. It was a stuck injector. Afterward it ran great. I ran a second can through it just to be sure. Ever since I've been tempted to get one for my own use. This OTC version looks like the trick, even if the price keeps going up.

Yep, that's the same procedure. Difference is I hooked up in the rear of the truck at the fuel pump. Just didn't feel like climbing on top of the motor to unhook the line at the rail in the engine bay (IIRC you probably can't reach it anyway with big paws like mine).

Yeah, on a d2 I doubt you can get to that line with the upper intake in place.

It's not so much the intake as it is the coilpacks. If you got those out of the way you would be in business.

Fuel pump is better tho

True, but keeping the connection as far away from a piping got manifold is worth the extra work of rolling up the carpet lol
