I've been trying to replace the filter on my fuel injectors while I'm putting things back together from head gasket job.
I can't seem to get the filter out, I'm not trying to use too much force as to destroy the injector.
Any hint's on how to get them out? The "kit" from ebay includes a screw to pull them out with, seems a bit sketchy to me.
I'm trying to remove them from the rail side of the injector (obvious I hope as the other side is the spray nozzle).
It was a little sketchy, but a sheet metal screw works well. screw it in, use pliers to yank it out. once the screw is in, put the injector in your left hand, attach vise grips, and pull in a motion exactly parallel with the injector (ie straight out). Don't do any side to side movements.
Does your kit just have a screw or is it a black plastic tube with a screw on one end? The screw will work, but you need pliers. If you have the black plastic thing, it is awesome. Screw the screw in the filter till tight then tighten the handle on the black thing. Pops them right out.
Got them done, just had to stop being a little girl about it.haha
Some pics of the old filters out. I cleaned out the injector and blew out with light compressed air before putting the new filter baskets in.
I put the screw in a vise so I could concentrate my energy in one direction and for the plastic caps just soak them in a cup of just boiled water to soften them up for installation
