Default fuel injector o-rings

does anyone know why the fuel injector O-rings have a tendency to leak? this shouldn't happen IMO. also I'm guessing there are many suppliers of said O-rings. are there better versions available of a better material or dimension that are less prone to leaking?

does anyone know the o-ring size?

o-rings dry out. Also the cups in the fuel rail can rust on the inside making for a poor seal.

I use dash number 111 o-rings.
