Default fuel issues?

Hello ou there is Rover land. I have an issue that I was hoping someone could help with.
I have a 1999 discovery 1. about 120000 miles. I can crank up the truck, and it will idle great, no problems. I drive for about 100feet, and it dies, and then doesnt want to crank up for about an hour. any suggestions where I might start, or what to look for?
Thanks, Mike

Did you replace the fuel filter also? Let it sit, so it will start, then run it 'til it dies. Then turn the key to the run position and check the fuel pressure at the rail( a round tire air pressure gauge works great, not the pop-out stick type). Could be an alarm issue, immobilising the vehicle. Could be the pump not getting power( relay, short in the wiring, etc)

Oddly I replaced the pump, but could get one of the ends loose on the filter, so no, it didnt get replaced. i do have pressure at the valve, good pressure. I can also hear the pump running when its quiet outside.
The wierd thing is that it will normally crank up, its just when i drive it that it dies.

Replace that filter before you start plugging up your injectors.
Did you install a new Rover pump, used or after market?

With out putting a fuel pressure gauge on when the engine shuts down, you really don't know what you have.
