Default Fuel Pump and SAI

My 2003 Disco has the wrong fuel pump installed. A Bosch with a pressure sensor instead of Bosch for SAI. I understand there is a venting hose on the unit for SAI. Does this venting hose vent directly into the SAI that heats the catalytic converter? The Rover runs fine. Must I replace the pump? What is the risk?
Tnx,
Jeff

Are there any trouble codes? Any drivability concerns?
If not, I'd just leave it alone.

How did you wind up with the wrong pump?

The fuel pump for the SAI engines isn't an SAI component, so it doesn't tie into the SAI at all. What they should really call it is is a fuel pump for ULEV vehicles. The ULEV vehicles have different evap system (which includes a different fuel pump and a DMTL pump), a thermostat monitoring system, and an SAI pump.

Thanks for the replies. I swapped fuel pumps from a junked 2004 Disco for $350. Installed myself. In NYC rats crawl under the hood and chew wires for their coppper. This time they chewed my fuel pump wire under the fuse box shorting the fuel pump.
There is no check light and OBD scanner has no codes. Engine runs fine and gas is the same. Guess I will leave it alone although I remain confused as to the function of the pump specifically for a SAI.
B well,
Jeff

The pump is for ULEV, not SAI.

The ULEV vehicles (these have SAI) have a separate electric pump called a DMTL that tests for fuel leaks, so they don't need a sensor in the pump.

The LEV vehicles (they don't have SAI) use engine vacuum to test for leaks, so there is a sensor in the pump to determine if there is a leak or not.

Thank you Jafir for the informative reply. I bought the Disco used but under warranty and have driven 100k. I have been doing my own fixes for the last 30k miles. Replaced Head Gasket at 70k under warranty and so far the oil pump has been ok although in the vin range to fail. Im gonna leave the fuel pump in.

Definitely leave it alone if it's not giving you any trouble.

If it's working and not giving you evap codes, I'd leave it alone as well.
