Are you talking about the connector at the pump? What year is your trk? The fuel pump gets power and will run to build fuel PSI for about 30 seconds, if the engine has oil pressure then the pump will continue to run.

if you have two, then the one that points down is for your pump and sender unit. the other is your fuel tank pressure sensor. and yes, there should be power for a few seconds after key on on one of the pins, which one depends on what year

I have two plugs, one 3 wire(red, black, striped) one four wire . is the three wire (red, black) the power , ground to the pump, if so, may I jumper to the red, black to see if the pump works, then look to see why I don't have power to the plug????
Thansk, Paul

you want to check for power at the white and purple wire after you turn the key on, if you dont have power, theres no point in checking if the pump is good, its not working because theres no power. first thing to check is your inertia switch, rear pass side of the engine bay, little button looking thing on the firewall, press the top, make sure the button in it is switched closed.

Thanks, great help, power at the white/purple, so now I guess the pump, she is dead??
I was checking the plugs, but I guess I didn't get to the proper one before the 30 seconds
were up. One would think the red would be power, but that would be too easy. Now I will start the search for a pump. Thanks again, Paul

just to be sure, you should check ground at the pump too, easy way for this is if you have any fuel gauge reading at all on your instrument pack, its good and you need a pump
