Default Fusible Link 2

The fusible link 2, FL2, the one nearest the front, keeps blowing. Searching the Rave electrical manual indicates it is for the glow plug, however this is gasoline.

Searching rave, it says the SAI pump runs through the FL2. That is the only reference to the FL2 i can find.

Does anyone know what amperage the correct FL is? the 50 keeps blowing, the Glow plug uses 100 amp.

This could be my recurring P1415 code.

I appreciate the thoughts,

Isn't the amperage printed on the underside of the fusebox lid?

Default Fuse lid

Actually, the lid only shows an icon for the manual and the check engine icon.

The box lid on mine says 100A but there's a 50A link in the slot. I don't have SAI.
The lid of my spare fusebox doesn't have an amperage listed -- it's like you describe.

Power to the SAI pump relay contacts is via fusible link FL2 which is located in the engine compartment fusebox.
The ECM checks the engine coolant temperature when the engine is started in addition to the elapsed time since the
engine was last started. The engine coolant temperature must be below 55°C (131°F) for the SAI pump to run.
NOTE: The ambient air temperature must also be above 8°C (46°F) for the SAI pump to run.
Also, depending on the long term 'modelled' ambient temperature determined by the ECM, the minimum elapsed time
required since the last engine start can be up to 8.25 hours. The period of time that the SAI pump runs for depends
on the starting temperature of the engine and varies from approximately 96 seconds at 8°C (46°F) to 30 seconds at
55°C (131°F).
This one got my curiosity up.

Tried finding some info in the elect manuasl and apparently LR didn't deem it important enough to include this info. Hence there's no easily found FL rating. Just wondered out to my D2 w/working system. Found un-blown FL2 with amperage rating of 50A Maybe you should write a letter to the emissions police about the missing documentation.

Has your SAI pump ever worked? Looked at your previous related threads going back a year or more. Never read that it spun up and made the typical loud noise.

Pump may be blowing fuse or you could have a short to ground some where between FL and pump. Suggest trying another 50A FL with the pump connector off.

Default Fuse

Pulled the plug on the SAI, I have not noticed anything different. I wonder if my pump even functions?

Lets see how the FL2 lasts.

Unless you are deaf it doesn't function. May have been slowly running in a stealth mode and finally seized/fried.

Default Sai

Unplugging the SAI pump seems to have kept my FL2 from blowing, so far anyway.

I think you are probably right that it never worked, no P1415 either. I suppose I should replace it.

Pulling the plug eliminated the code? If so you made a wonderful discovery? No real need to replace unless it would cause emissions testing fail.
