FYI - Code P0748
Just a heads up to anyone finding this code on their Discovery.
I recently replaced the transmission in my 2001 Discovery and when I was done...I tried to clear all of the codes that were set when the trans was beat to death by the front shaft explosion. There were a few, but code P0748 kept coming back within seconds of cycling the key, and the green S and M mode lights were flashing. I took it for a ride anyway and immediately notice that the trans was in lockout, starting in second or third I figured.
Long story short, the black plug that controls the soleniods and pressure regulation of the trans had one pin push out of the plug when slid together. It was the orange and green wire, which controls the pressure regulator soleniod. Pushed the female terminal back into the plug, hearing a slight click, pulled on it several times...but it was back in tightly now. Installed plug, turned on key and green lights were no longer blinking. Cleared code...and check engine light and both green lights went out.
The test drive was top-notch, shifting smoothly and no more codes. I do have the ABS and TC lights on, but that is because I'm driving it with the CDL engaged, until front drive shaft arrives.
Just thought I'd pass along my findings...for those that may search out this similar issue.
Brian.
