Just filled up on my DI and calculated about 22 mixed city/hwy. Mind, I'm very soft on the throttle, feather it to make the tranny upshift early when cruising, coast whenever possible, and pick routes with the least amount of stops.

 

Classic Disco 1's get better MPG than the Disco II's or so I have been told.
My window sticker on my Disco I is 14 mpg city 16 hwy mpg,, this is without Ethanol,
that is what I get with out ethanol.
I have Off Road Tyers ect.

 

MPG??? You drive a Land Rover!

Actually I gave up worrying after premium fuel went over $4 last summer. And I made the mistake 2 years ago of telling my wife I was trading in the Suburban and getting a Discovery to save on gasoline!

 

Any reason why I am getting 11 mpg?

 

So I changed where I normally get gas, sams club to shell and I had a 1 mpg change from what I normally get. So now my average around town is 14-15.

 

It will take 2-3 tanks of Shell before you really notice a difference.
A light foot, keep it under 70, use the cruise and that will net you your biggest increase in mpg.
