gas mileage report
I took the rover on a trip up to Boone, NC. It is about 300 miles away. I averaged 16.5mpg. It was mainly interstate driving at 70-75mph but also had some 2 lane stop and go and some steep mountain back roads in there. 4 adults all over 180 lbs plus a lot of baggage and gear. Ran the a/c on most of the way back. Over all I am happy with the magnacor wires and NGK iridiums.

It was hard to keep it below 70 on the way up there..we all could not wait to start snowboarding..on the way back slowed down a bit but we had to keep a steady pace to beat Atlanta traffic.
I have found that if your truck is properly maintained the only real difference in mpg is driving habbits. I anticipate shift points for the road ahead as to keep the truck from downshifting continuously. Also i think the biggest thing for any SUV driver is applying the brakes. If you can read the traffic so that you use the brakes as little as safely needed and when accelerating easing into the throttle has prooved to me the best results in mpg.Keep in mind w/o using the econ button the a/c compressor will run killing mpgs, either in AUTO mode or using defrost. My truck has ACE which is an extra all the time load and i have honestly seen 19 mpg. Highway of course.
Yeah. My Rover is a complete gas ***** too. She can't go by a gas station without stopping to flirt with the pumps. Doesn't matter if the pump is big or small, black or white, modern or old school - she can't help herself from going straight up to it, opening up and begging for some juice. She's never seen a pump she didn't try to drain...
