I used synthetic 75w90. But seems like everyone on these forums use the thickest dino oil possible in these cars...

85w140 might not be best since your in a colder climate unless your axle is leaking or you just like driving 200kmh down the TCH.

I also replaced the plugs.

I have been using Redline heavy shock-proof. I've done multiple fluid changes and no wear issues. My truck now has 450000km on the clock.

just curious is that all on the original drive train ? If it is that’s quiet impressive and shows how maintenance goes along way

My 02 has 237k and climbing all on the original drivetrain. Zero issues & it runs better IMHO than most D2’s with less than 100k.

Up in Canada I’d just stick with 75/90w or 80/90w.

Yep mine was very well kept by the previous owners. Dealer serviced & all LR parts (not all that important as some aftermarket stuff is better IMHO). But yeah I honestly never buy a LR with less than 100k.

450000km on the original drivetrain. I believe the original owner had the head gaskets done. I bought it at 175k and have not touched the head gaskets. Diffs and tranny are still in good shape - no noise or vibrations. Truck has always been well maintained.

when you bought it did it have the 180 stat and we’re temps down or did you do all the tricks this board focuses on ?

I hope mine lasts that long. When I bought mine it only had 115,000 km but running at 220-225 degrees and ticking when hot, already had the gaskets done at 80000 km and had a few oxygen sensor faults running rich codes. After a month of tuning it up it’s running amazing
