Gearing Question
Does anyone have experience with GBR or Ashcroft gearing? I'm looking to regear this year and was curious if anyone had any opinions one way or another.
Also, gear ratios for 33s and 35s?
Thanks in advance.

4.10s or 4.30s for 33s. 4.30s or 4.56s for 35s. That would be my recommendation, and I'd choose based on how many highway miles you drive. Also not completely sure if 4.30 gears are available for the D2, so that would be something to check on.
Thanks Alex, I think someone makes 4.37s. Which is probably what I'll do so I have some middle ground between 33s and 35s. Here at elevation the D2 on 33s is pretty much useless on the highway so any little bit will help.
tires are 305/65/18 - roughly 34’s
i would like to try 4.11’s with these tires or 35’s with the ratio. I drive pretty slow, but I do cover a lot of distance, & I think it can be a little better balance
The 4.43’ are 7x31 - gives a little lower range & stronger setup then the 4.11’s - I wanted it for slower pace /crawling.
Just checked and Ashcroft has 4.37s so that sounds like a nice compromise if I do go to 35s or stick with the 33s. I don't need to drive fast but it would be real nice for a better crawl ratio and hopefully go over 40mph over the passes here with the pedal to the floor (very disheartening to be flooring it and watch the speedo continue to drop lol)
I run 315/75r16 (35") with the 4.37 gears from Ashcroft. It seems like a good ratio to do some rock-crawling yet still be good for highway use. It does alright going up the highway grades, not too much worse than stock.
Excellent to hear. I haven't driven a stock D2 as mine the PO had 265/75/16 on it when I purchased so if I can run 35s and get back to that point at least I'd be pretty happy.
