How is the quality relative to the ARB? Looks good on ebay and from 10 feet away but I'm weary of knockoff plastic parts.

If they are anything like the generic ones for the Land Cruiser the quality should be the same as the Safari ones. The one I have on my 80 series looks and fits just like the Safari brand on my friend has and has held up fine during the 100+ deg summer days.

You're going to want to relocate the electronics in the passenger side footwell or find a way to waterproof it. There's an official "wading kit" for these that I think I saw for sale at john craddocks. (where I got my mantec snorkel)

Seems like a snorkel is a good idea. Hows those plastic made ones? They won't easily crack? Seems like too exposed. Will a 3 inch tubing fit inside the fender? I'm just guessing there can be a cheaper alternative using all aluminum that can be installed within the fender.
