Default Gettin' my old disco back!

Hi everyone!
I had a 2004 discovery and reluctantly gave it up for a mom car...Volvo... Anyway done w that and want my car back!
So I'm looking around for one and wondering what pitfalls should I look for w a high mileage 2004.
I'm seeing mostly 90-120000 miles.
What things will have gone out by then that i will have to replace?
Or what do i hope has been replaced/updated.
Thanks all!
Celine

water pump, radiator, thermostat, head gaskets, oil pump, 3 Amigos, and numero uno - front prop shaft. Also look at an Ultra Gauge, so you can have digital read out of real coolant temps, reset codes, etc. $70.

Actually, the prop shaft is the sure thing, others will come as Murphy's Law dictates.

I would buy a ultra gauge and take it with me for test drives where that way you can check things out and confirm all things are functioning properly.

I just bought my 04 Disco with 130 on the clock. Already has new water pump and afew things like that BUT still needs the aftermarket fully greaseable driveshaft. But my brakes were shot so I just spent a small fortune on all new brakes. Certainly check your brakes, maybe flush out the old brake fluid, make sure the calipers are not sticking or anything like that.

Default Thanks...and

This is exactly what I was wanting to know.

What exactly are the 3 amigos tho???

And I'm only seeing discos at dealerships. Is there a website just for buyers direct to sellers?
I'm in So. California

Thanks again

Three amigos are the three warning lights on the dash. Often associated with Anti-Lock Braking System not working among other issues.

Craigslist gives you the option to look at vehicles for sale by owners only.

The 3 Amigos is a coined term for a common fault with the Discovery Series 2 models (1999-2004). It occurs in the form of 3 warning lights illuminated at the same time and they never go away until the fault is addressed: ABS, Hill Decent Control, Tracking Control.

And as mentioned above, Craigslist.org is a good source for finding used vehicles by private owner.
