I know I know, its the alternator.... This is just funny. Yes I washed the engine bay, no I didn't cover the alternator, I NEVER had to on any other vehicle..

Is it shot?

What do yall think?

Let it sit a few days? It was working fine for a while after I washed it. I didn't drive it right after i probably waited a good 2 hours and then took it to the gym.

Got home sitting in drive way I revved it to listen to the waterfall in the heatercore [need to bleed] and then boom no more rpms..

If it doesn't self fix should I take it off and open it up?
Should I but a new alternator regulator?
Should I plan on buying a new alternator?

if it doesnt come back in 12 hours of dry air then take it off and bring it to a starter repair shop... they rebuild alts all the time.... save you some dough.... but its gonna be cheaper to buy a used alt!!!!

I assume you checked all the wires on the back of the alt.
No there is no need to cover the alt when washing the engine.

Stay away from the cheap piece of crap rebuilt ones from the autoparts stores.
Buy a used on online and have it rebuilt by a local shop.
If you look up my alternator thread there is a link in there for a place on e-bay that rebuilds them and they turn up the amps too.
