Getting Comical, I rev my engine and now no rpms and battery light is on.
I have a DISCO II 2001 Land Rover and have recently replaced the Crank Sensor. When it is not functioning properly, your engine will stop running, and after a few minutes or hours you might be able to turn it on again, but then again, it will turn off.
One thing I learned through this experience is that not all Diagonostic Troubleshooting Code (DTC) readers have a code to diagnose the problem. However, one way to know that this might be caused by a faulty crank sensor is to see your tachometer (RPM needle), and if it is not working, (which is your case) there you have the likely cause of your suffering.
Please, respond and let me know how you eventually solved your problem.
Thanks.
