I would think the po had changed the gaskets at some point. Maybe you bought it shortly after they were changed?

another one bites the dust. Was going to look at an 04 with 90k miles and head gaskets done. The morning I was to go look/purchase the owner calls me saying it's pushing coolant out of the reservoir....

Most of them do at around 100k.
If you can do your own work, and buy it cheap enough, blown head gaskets aren't a deal breaker.
They are a deal maker if anything.
Under $200 for oil, coolant, and gaskets.
Or $4k, and the dealer will fix you right up, lol.

I'd steer clear unless you want to take the opportunity to put in a new long block in a good DII.

It took me a solid 2-3 months to find a decent D2 -- just gotta be patient, you'll find one.
