Talking Getting the heave-ho see you around fellas!

I guess I've used up my 9 lives in this forum disagreeing with mike lately. I've been given the ultimatum, shut up or leave. I've probably been spending too much time online this summer anyhow. Anyways the Disco is running great just a random coolant leak to deal with. No more amigos thank goodness.

Thanks to spike555, jupiter rover and jscalyas for the good advice. If anyone is ever in western NY and needs their ABS codes read or SLABS unit programmed stop by, my email address is lipadj76@yahoo.com.

I'm glad you left your email addy. I didn't know that there was an issue between you and Mike. Everyone has their own experiences and there own theories and their own opinions. It's a shame that we can't all communicate in a way that prevents things like this from happening.

I visited a lot of forums before finding this one and I was relieved to find a great bunch of knowledgeable and friendly Land Rover enthusiasts. Seems to be a little different than I first thought. That's a shame.

Enjoyed talking to you while it lasted lip.

are you serious? I've always said whatever I wanted to on here and have disagreed with several people including mike. I've never been ask to shut up or leave, are you sure you're not exaggerating what was said? Even if I was ask to shut up or leave I'd just keep posting until I was kicked.

eh ???

The WHOLE point of a message board / forum is to "discuss" things.........People will always have different views and opinions, thats the way it is !!!!!!

As long as we are civil to each other, then I can see no issue with disagreements, I have had a few to.

If "those" in power who ever they are, tell those to leave or shutup because they disagree on here, not only is that childish, it also makes the whole place a joke imo.

If you would read your PM you would see that you are not going any where. I didn't tell you to shut up, I asked that when replying to one of the newbe's on the site that you post accurate information which is what they are looking for.

If you want to stick around that is great cause you do post some good information just keep it accurate.

I have never stepped on anyones toes cause we disagree, but I will when the posting of incorrect information leads someone in the wrong direction.

i guess the problem is that "incorrect" is often not as objective as we like...

if a large group of people say that K&N filters are awesome, but a small group thinks they cause hard starts, then who's correct absent of scientific data?

or if one group of people have been putting ATF in their crankcase for decades, and another group (even if a fraction of the size of the other) thinks that's the dumbest thing they've ever heard, who's correct?

these types of debates should lead people to do their own research instead of listening to a bunch of internet *******

I agree opinions are just that, and the original poster should understand this and ultimately make his or her own decision, and just as a rule of thumb (as I try to follow) giving information is fine (even if you are pretty but not 100% sure) but if you are not 100% sure you should explain this as well. I often give suggestions on electrical problems for a D2 when I may not know an exact location of a harness or a specific wire color, but I make it a point that these are my ideas or suggestions and not necessarily correct.
