Default Going to look at another Disco tomorrow

It is an 03, but not in the bad range. Clear history and already had a friend give it a once over. I want to plug in my ultra gauge when I drive it to check things out, but was wondering if I have to go through and rest the device. Being mine is a 2000 4.0 and this is a 2003 4.6, I'm assuming it might be different but hoping not. Anyone try this before? I'm just looking to see if there are any pending codes, and also would like to see the coolant temps.
Thanks!

How many miles on it, what are they asking for it and what are you going to use it for?

You should be able to plug right into the ODBII port. Not sure if you need to reset anything on the Ultra though.

You can read coolant temp just as you do on your 2000 on the 03-04.

Remember just because your vin is out of range doesn't mean that the engine hasn't been overheated. Let that Disco get nice and warm and see if you have and ticks or noise.

It would be nice to do an oil pressure check also if they'll let you. pull the port plug just above the filter housing as this is the easiest one to get to.

Plug it right it. The gauge will know that it's a different vehicle. I switch mine from my D2, to my D1, and then to my wife's P.O.S. Toyota Rav4 regularly...

Thanks all! And yes...being a Disco owner I sure know what to look for! Ticks, leaks, overheating signs, etc. It is an 03 SE with 75K on the clock, clean carfax, no accidents and overall nice shape inside and out. Cold weather package, no Air Suspension. I should be able to get it for around $6K which seems good. On top of that, I can swap on my newer tires, upgraded stereo and maybe even the running boards and ladder. I was going to take some of the new cooling system, driveshaft, etc and then sell my current one, but my mom's cousin is in need of a 4X4 so my current rig will be given to her. My current one is now in need of back brakes though, so I might swap in the ones from the 03 (which are said to be good) and get a nice set for the new one (EBC rotors and Akebono pads/EBC pads).
