ORIGINAL: Spike555

Dont D2's have a oil cooler? If not I can see that making a differance. And I can also see it being a size differance in the oil sump.
And if it is nothing more than a larger sump than would the sump from a 4.0 D2 fit a 4.0 D1?

Thought they might be different..

I have been looking into dropping a 4.6 in my D1. It has been done. You can do it with some mods to the front cover, or by swapping the front cover with a 4.0. The heads are the same all the way through, and the intake of any engine will bolt to the other. I have read that a 4.0 Bosch block will give a little vibration in a GEMS system, but don't remember where or why....

I have a quick question!!!! Does the Mobil 1 M1-301 fit a 03 Disco???? I see above that is the one llersa states but we are talking about a 2000. When I went into AA and asked if that was the correct one for a 03 the lady at the counter look at me like I was "SLOW". Please advise, and thanks for the info!!!!!

All Disco's trake the same filter. The only option you have is both K&N and Mobil 1 make a standard length and a longer filter, in the K&N, the longer filter is a 3001.

Thanks Mike!! I just wanted to make sure as I do have a 03 within that oil pump problem and I just wanted to make sure that I used the correct filter. That way I am not putting any more problems on the pump!!!!!!
