Default Is it a good idea to preventatively replace my radiator?

Just added a 2004 Disco to the fleet with 78,000 miles on it. Dexcool for days. I replaced the radiator on my 2002 Disco with 154,000, sawed the radiator in half and saw so many of the coolant galleries plugged up. Should I replace the radiator on the 2004 assuming it too is plugged up, or skip this interval and maybe consider replacing it at something like 100,000 miles?

In the BMW world, radiators on old E36s were replaced at 75,000 miles, no question, just do it. I haven't gleaned that there's a recommended replacement interval for D2 radiators.

I haven't replaced one if it wasn't leaking. But I also have one of those silly laser heat guns to check for cold or hot spots to alleviate my stress.

I carefully monitor my engine temps on my iPad with the UltraGauge Blue adapter so I'll wait on replacing my original radiator.

hell, as cheap as the radiators are, if you have the time change it out.

it'll be peace of mind and one less thing to worry about.

May as well grab some of @abran fancy new Aluminum coolant parts if you are going after preventative cooling system maintenance.

If I had the $ and time, I'd replace everything that could possibly fail, all at once. Since that's not feasible, I just fix what needs it as necessary; hopefully before complete failure. Most things give warnings before then if you're paying attention-and you should be with an older vehicle. If it's a point of stress/worry for u, replace it.

Replace it. And find a couple of other things to freshen up while you have easy access. Trans cooler lines and what not.

If you are at it, add the OEM oil coiler.
