My ex wife just blew up the engine in the 2001 Mazda MPV that she got in the divorce.
Ran it out of oil. Apparently the last time the oil was changed is when I did it two years ago.
So 40,000 miles on synthetic oil. Bone dry. The mechanic pulled the drain plug and less than a quart of oil came out.
Made my day. I will be for a week or so.

 

It was real common to blow the oil pressure switch and drain the crank case in 20 seconds while at highway speeds.
