If you need to ship over a long distance, you have a number of options. Shipping is an expensive proposition. Determining the cheapest way to ship involves looking at more than just the up-front costs. Also look at the cost of insuring the shipment and at the track record of the company you choose to ship.

Greyhound as mentioned before, for those odd oversize items. Look at freight companies like SAIA as well and it's cheaper if you ship depot to depot.
