New question, is there a way to make the factory alarm chirp or honk the horn when it is set?
What the car does when you set the alarm is one of about a dozen user-selectable options determined by programming to the BCM, or Body Control Module, produced by Valeo, which explains that logo on your key fob. :-)

Changing those settings requires a model-specific OBD computer/interface.

I know the Faultmate MSV from Blackbox is expected to be able to do that, the ABS Amigo... maybe; @jycsalas?

The dealer's Testbook T4 will do it too, but it's probably not worth $120 to you. :-)

Is there any software than can be downloaded to a laptop that will let me get into the different control units? I have an older laptop that isn't fast enough for me anymore that is just collecting dust. I have a serial to OBD II cable for it too.

Don't think it would be worth it to try to change the alarm...
