Only SAI trucks have a temp sensor in the radiator.

At temps of 230 I would not be letting that engine run unless you want a headache

I'm not sure exactly what to do to decrease the temp .I've completely flushed the system twice. I thought there might of been a bubble too, so I bled the system like 5 times. I even let about half a gallon come out of the bleed screw. I'm at a bit of a loss. I read a post somewhere that a guys temp was 215-220 and someone responded the OBD temp isn't correct, any feedback on this?

get another Tstat and start over

if you have taken a garden hose and put it in every hole top of rad bottom of rad heater core hose and Tstat lines and it's coming out the other side at a decent flow then you prob don't any any blockage
hold the hose for at least 30 sec on high spray

then change Tstat again

So any idea what the temp sensor just dangling down under my truck might be for?

I just don't get it. From what i can tell, the tstat just isnt opening to let the coolant from the rad circulate into the system but i have a hard time believing that this brand new britpart one is bad as well. I think the coolant isn't getting hot enough at the tstat which is causing it to not open. As mentioned i had installed a new WP and the serp belt is routed the correct way, obviously the rad fan is spinning so its not seized or anything -- i can grab the heater core hoses and feel coolant is being circulated through them as well.

I did fire up MagPie, started right up (LIKE A CHAMP) and let it warm up to 215 and then shut it off. The temp climb is slow, no spiking or anything but it just keeps slowly climbing until i turn it off. Temp gun this AM was reading the upper rad hoses right around the 140ish mark (ambient was about 55) but the tstat isnt designed to open until 172. I'm sure that the IR gun i have isn't scientifically perfect or whatever but the fact that the lower rad hose is stone cold and the upper 2 hoses off the tstat are almost to hot to touch has gotta say/mean something.

I guess i'll be pulling out the britpart tstat today and boiling it to make sure its opening as well.. Ugh.

WHY IS THIS SO COMPLICATED

I had the exact same problem as you
lower rad hose is cold warm until I replaced 3 thermostats

I know it's hard to believe but I'm telling you it's as simple as the thermostat
