Government shutdown?

My wife works for the EPA, read non-essential personnel. Fortunately I am not affected by the shutdown and we are doing fine. Some people she works with are not so fortunate and are putting their belongings up for sale to pay bills, that are obviously not affected by the shutdown either..

I feel like if this goes on long enough we will know what a true government shutdown will be. Government employees will not be able to afford to go to work so they will just stop working. Except those in the positions that make the decisions will continue to collect a paycheck... I think we should use "Vatican rules" lock the parties in a room with no outside access until they figure this mess out.
