Great, now I am responsible for anything that happens to your truck after you make the switch. FYI I would change the Rotella non synthetic every 4k miles and synthetic ever 6k.

Rotella is a heavy duty oil designed to go 10,000 miles+ between oil changes in diesel engines.
You can safely go every 5,000 miles and not worry about it.
If you dont drive that much per year then just change it every 6 months and not worry about it.
When I drove cement truck we changed the oil once a year no matter what, and that was in the winter when we were slow, we used Rotella dino oil, we used it in the transmissions, hydrologic system...everything and everywhere.
Bulldozer, dump trucks, front end loader, Bobcat...everything.
Never once had a oil related problem.
I use Rotella HD-30 in the summer and 5w-40 in the winter, the 5w-40 is full syn and I always change it every 5,000 miles.
That goes for both my Rover and the wifes turbo Volvo.

The last time I saw a sale like that, it was at Advance, and it had 5 quarts of M1 and a matching filter. They did have 5w40 "Turbo Diesel Truck" oil, so I bought that, after making sure it met all of the API whatevers. I suppose it will have plenty of detergents and other good stuff too. After I use it, I'll probably go back to Rotella.

Good find! Advance is running the sale deal. I usually buy 3 of the deals, so have enough oil for 2+ changes and then get the extra filter for my lawn tractor or my Mazda (that takes 5W-20 which I could get in the gallons). BTW...I'm a M1 fan as well! I've used it in every car I've had...and even use it in my garden equipment lol.
And let's face it... any of the "good" oils will be perfectly fine in these engines so use what you like. I tried some others in this, and as expected, no difference in anything.
For the oil change specials, I do wish they would extend the offer to include extra bottles! Here is my issue:
Rover: 7 bottles of 10W-40
Audi: 10 bottles of 0W-40
Mazda: 6 bottles of 5W-20

Do you drain your "empty's" into one another after each oil change?
Those 10 "empty" qts for the Audi will net you one quart once emptied.
When I get the oil changed in my work van I grab all of the empties out of the quick lubes trash cans and take them home, empty them and I get 2-3 qts of free oil sometimes.
I then use that free oil for topping off whatever needs it between oil changes.
You could combine your W-40's into one qt and then keep your 5W-20 separate.

LOL... indeed I do! I actually have my little guy do that for me. He flips them upside down on this little screen thing used for draining the oil filters from an old pan I had. You do get a heck of a lot out of those 10!

LOL!!!
Good deal, I learned that trick years ago from Popular Mechanics, I have no idea how much it saves me but I know its worth it.
I have 2 M1 bottles that I use because of the wide mouth, I stick a empty qt into the M1 bottle on my work bench and let it drain over night, come home from work and do another.
And so on until they are all empty, and then I recycle the empties.
The gallon jugs are a little harder to do, I drain those into another gal jug.
I like free stuff.

And, teaches my little dude not to waste and conserve resources. My good friend with the same Audi thought I was nuts... until he too realized that about a quart of $7 oil gets wasted each time. I will say that the 20 weight doesn't yield much as it is thinner...but also the design of the oil filler makes it easier to leave them upside down dripping into the engine easier too. Makes me wonder how much gear oil I wasted when I did the 6+ qts of that. I just didn't want it stinking up the garage! With the cost and flow of that stuff, you could likely do your diffs for free easily!

I do it with gear lube and ATF too.
ATF wont net much so I just drain those into the gas can for the lawn equipment.

Just to add to this oil change deal, Mobil 1 is offering their own rebate for 5+ quarts of oil ($12) , or 5+ quarts of oil + filter ($15).

Mobil 1 $15 or $12 Rebate on Store Purchases

Now, the rebate does say that it can't be combine with any other offers so may get rejected since you're buying on the already discounted AZ deal, but if it does, then it'll be $15 for full synth oil and a good quality filter.

Sent my rebate form in today, so we'll see....fingers are crossed
